How on earth did we live without the internet?

This weekend's broadband failure made me realise just how much of life is online these days.

I feel perhaps a little sad that our children may never have the experience of placing a large clunky encylopedia on the library table, and flipping it open to research an assignment. The scent of the paper and students who went before.

Nostalgia is something else.

I agree with you. I loved going to the library to do the research.. you had to read EVERYTHING to get to the info you wanted. Now you Google it..

I still read books though, but the rest is all done online

Wait, I just want to log on MSN to leave you a message....

Okay..

Yes... although I gotta love the internet.

Thanks for the comment. The snow looks nice right?

I suppose that is true. They'll never have to go to friend's homes - those who's parents could afford the encyclopedia - do the task and hope it's right. Now we have it all available at the click of a button

I never did projects in the library.
A miss spent youth perhaps.

Yip, when connectivity is down we are lost too.

they'll be lucky if they can even read, when computers will just read stuff to them instead.
