All kinds of everything...............

Sometimes one is at a loss for words. The last two days I find myself avoiding the reception area of our company because I don't want to speak to the receptionist. What do you say to a woman who has just lost her son in a motorbike accident. Everytime a parent buries a child I feel something is badly out of place in this world.

Hey Mr. B.

Everytime a young person dies I see Tim's face. Something is really fucked in this world is an understatement.

Can you something for me? Go to the reception, hold her, say nothing because no words can adequately touch such sorrow... and just let her know she is not alone.

Do it for me.

Love you.
C.

That is just so sad. I agree with Wench. Just give her a hug.

You're right, there is something very wrong with this world. No parent should ever have to bury their own child. In a time like that there are no words that can make you feel better, but knowing someone cares helps just a little.

How awful! My worst nightmare. There really isn't much to say. The hug though, yeah, that's the way to go...

I have a friend whose daughter from a recessive genetic disease that both he and his wife carry. It has been very hard on them. I told him that I wanted to tell him sorry, but all words of condolence seemed empty and inadequate. He said that was the most apporoprite response he had heard so far. Having a child die is so tragic.

I often find I have nothing to say that feels appropriate at the time or it sounds cliched but sometime later a hug or I will open up with "how are you doing?" which then leads me to be able to say "I'm so sorry to hear..."
