Calling all Americans HNT week
If you are a citizen of the U.S.A please read the post, if not please read it anyway, and spread the word
You're pissed off. You don't like the actions taken by your Administration and/or by a whole lot of your elected officials. You can sit around and complain and do nothing else - or - you can get off of your butt and start to take action. The choice is yours. But what you do, or don't do, will have an impact on what happens in your country. (to the rest of the world believe me this affects you too)
The first step? Get registered to vote and work to get others registered to vote. That's the way we change things in your country. If every U.S. reader of this blog would go out and get 5 people a month to register to vote ... and if those five people went out and got 5 other people registered to vote ... well, you can see the potential.
You'll hear more about this in the coming weeks (National Blog Voter Registration Day - April 18th).

Registering to vote is only part of the battle. Last Presidential election a lot more college students were registered to vote than in the past. Traditionally most college age people vote liberal. Guess what, they did not show up at the polls.
There has not been a good candidate in a long time and as a result not many vote. If the Dems had a half way likeable candidate they would have won the last two elections.

Small point: I've noticed in my travels far and wide that furriners (all U non USA types) think we're all a bunch of ignorant no account fuckers uninterested in our political process. Not so. 50% of us are too stupid to vote and I wouldn't want them to. The other 50% are divided roughly 40%-51% but alas the idiots have the advantage. I'm not mad or anything, just making an observation. Those of us truly fighting our facist government get kinda hosed when lumped together with "Americans" who have no clue what our country is about. Hint: It ain't Kirk, Kitchen and kinder. I vote, and I fight for our democracy everyday by spreading information. Just a little more high profile action and I'll be jailed as an enemy combatant never to be seen again. The world at large hasn't a clue how dangerous dissent is in my country right now. Wait, there's a knock at the door. Hey wait...
